Columbia University Irving Medical Center has announced the appointment of Dr. Daichi Shimbo as Senior Vice President and Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs, effective February 1.

A renowned physician-scientist and professor of medicine, Shimbo has been a key figure at Columbia since 2003, advancing research on hypertension and cardiovascular health. As co-director of the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research, he has fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and faculty development. In his new role, Shimbo will focus on faculty support, mentorship programs, and initiatives to strengthen academic leadership at CUIMC.
